Out 2.5 km, turn, come back
One straight line along the water. You cannot get lost, but you can miss the turn — so read the landmarks below before race morning.
4.99 km with the turnaround marked, traced from a recording of the race itself. Import it into a watch, Strava or any map app.
Finding the turnaround
Four things to look for
The turn is marked with a red sign and orange cones. Cones blow over and signs get moved, so learn the landmarks as a backup — they do not move.
- Lifeguard tower on your left, on the promenade side.
- The centre of the zoo fence on your right, across the road, lining up with you.
- A “Road Humps 200 m” sign. This is your warning that the turn is coming.
- The first tree immediately after that sign. That tree is the exact turnaround point.
